Former Member Provincial Assembly Abdul Majeed Achakzai was acquitted on the ground of suspicion in the case. The statements of the prosecution were not taken into consideration in the case of Traffic Sergeant.
Quetta Police has challenged the acquittal of former Member Assembly Abdul Majeed Achakzai in the Traffic Court Sergeant murder case in the High Court. According to details, an appeal has been filed in the Balochistan High Court against the acquittal in the murder case of Traffic Sergeant Ataullah. ۔ An appeal has been filed by the police department against the acquittal of Abdul Majeed Achakzai in the case.
Officials said that the Model Court had acquitted former MPA Abdul Majeed Achakzai on the ground of suspicion in the case. The prosecution’s statements in the traffic sergeant’s case were not taken into consideration. The trial court ignored the prosecution’s position. The points which are not under discussion in the trial court have the right to be brought before the High Court, therefore the appeal against them should be allowed.
Quetta’s Model Court has acquitted former MPA Abdul Majeed Achakzai in a murder case on the 4th of this month in the murder case of a traffic sergeant. Earlier, Abdul Majeed Achakzai was killed in a car crash. Sergeant Atallah’s brother had announced to challenge the acquittal of the former MPA in the Supreme Court. It may be recalled that on September 4, the Model Court of Quetta delivered a safe verdict in the traffic police officer murder case. Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party leader Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai was honorably acquitted.
Model Court Judge Dost Mohammad Mandokhel had heard the case of murder of a traffic police officer. It is to be noted that this case has been pending since 2017 and initially this case was pending in the anti-terrorism court as it included terrorism provisions in the case. However, it was later requested by the accused’s lawyers that the case does not fall under the category of anti-terrorism. He was transferred to the Model Court, after which the terrorism provisions were removed from the case and he was transferred to the Model Court. ۔
