Sania Mirza says ‘destiny’ led her to Shoaib Malik as she narrates her love story
Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistan Cricket Champion Shoaib Malik are the ultimate power couple in the neighboring countries, but how the two started their love story is something that has remained out of the spotlight.
Speaking of how she met the love of her life, the tennis ace spilled beans on an episode of India Today Inspiration.
Mirza admitted that she had met the cricket field, but destiny had to interfere to put them together.
“We knew each other socially and then we bumped into each other at a restaurant in Hobart, where after 6 p.m. you don’t even see animals / birds, forget about people,” she said.
“It must have been a fate that we met there to be very honest. Only later did I realize that he was actually planning to come to the restaurant because I was there. I was giving all the credit to fate, but it was clearly not,” she added.
The couple tied their knot on 12 April 2010 in Hyderabad, India, followed by a reception in Malik’s hometown of Sialkot, Pakistan. The two are the parents of Izhaan Mirza Malik, one-year-old.
